Privacy Policy for SSH Buttons
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Galaica Tech ("we", "us", "our")
handles information in the SSH Buttons mobile application
(package name com.galaicatech.sshbuttons) (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Summary
- The App does not require an account.
- SSH host details, command buttons, passwords and private keys are stored only on your device.
- We do not operate a server that receives your SSH connection data.
- The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Google may collect and process certain device and usage information as described below.
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information stored on your device
The App stores the following information locally on your device:
- SSH host configuration: display name, IP address or hostname, port, username, authentication method, host-key verification option, keep-alive interval, and connection/command timeouts.
- Credentials: your SSH password, private key, and optional key passphrase.
- SSH host keys saved for host-key verification.
- Command buttons, including their labels and commands.
Passwords, private keys, and passphrases are encrypted at rest using the Android Keystore. These credentials are used only to connect to the SSH host that you configure. They are transmitted only to that host when you run a command. The operator of that host may have its own logging and privacy practices, which we do not control.
This locally stored information is not sent to us. You can delete it by deleting individual hosts or commands, clearing the App's data from Android settings, or uninstalling the App.
If you import a private key, you select the file through Android's system file picker. The App reads only the file you select and stores its contents locally.
2. Information collected by third-party advertising
The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to display advertisements and manage advertising consent. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information such as:
- IP address, which may be used to infer approximate location.
- Advertising ID, app set ID, and other device or account identifiers.
- App interactions, such as ad impressions and ad clicks.
- Diagnostic and performance information.
- Device information and general app usage information.
Google and its advertising partners may use this information for ad delivery, personalized advertising (where consent has been obtained), ad measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention.
We do not receive your personal information from Google. We may receive aggregated advertising reports, such as impression counts and estimated revenue. We do not use any other third-party analytics or crash-reporting services in the App.
Google's processing of this information is governed by Google's own privacy policies:
You can manage personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings.
3. Consent and your choices
Where required by law, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the App uses Google UMP to ask for your consent before personalized advertising and related processing. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by:
- Clearing the App's data in Android settings or reinstalling the App, which resets your consent choices; or
- Contacting us using the details below.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before the withdrawal. You can also control personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings.
We do not sell personal information. Google's advertising partners may process data for personalized advertising as described in this policy, subject to your consent and Google's own controls.
4. Permissions and device access
The App requests network access (Internet and network state) to connect to SSH hosts and to load advertisements. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may use the Android advertising ID for advertising purposes.
The App does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, SMS messages, or general files. If you import a private key, Android's system file picker gives the App access only to the file you choose.
5. Data retention
We do not retain personal information on our own servers. Locally stored SSH configuration and credentials remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
Google's retention of advertising-related information is governed by Google's privacy policy and settings.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information stored by the App:
- SSH credentials are encrypted at rest using the Android Keystore.
- SSH connections are encrypted by the SSH protocol.
- The App supports host-key verification, including a trust-on-first-use option. Selecting "Accept any host key" weakens protection against man-in-the-middle attacks and is not recommended for production servers.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for the SSH hosts you connect to and for protecting your device and credentials.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. International users
Google may process advertising-related information in countries other than your own. Google's privacy policy describes its international data transfer practices. Locally stored SSH data remains on your device.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, to request data portability, or to withdraw consent. Because we do not maintain a server containing your personal information, we may be unable to fulfill a request for data that exists only on your device or that is held by Google. You can contact us using the details below, and you may also contact your local data protection authority.
For advertising data controlled by Google, please use Google's privacy controls and contact Google as described in its privacy policy.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after an update means that you accept the updated policy.
